Visa requirements

Entry requirements for Brazil vary depending on your nationality. We advise all participants to check their specific visa requirements with the nearest Brazilian consulate well in advance of their travel dates.

  • Visa-Exempt Nationalities: Citizens from most European countries, the UK, Latin America, and several other regions do not require a visa for stays of up to 90 days.
  • Special Notice for Chinese Citizens: Under a reciprocal agreement for 2026, holders of ordinary Chinese passports can enter Brazil visa-free for short stays of up to 30 days. This covers attendance at the congress. Ensure your passport has at least six months of validity remaining and two blank pages upon entry. If you plan to extend your stay beyond 30 days, a traditional visa will still be required.
  • Special Notice for Indian Citizens: Passport holders from India must obtain a Visitor Visa (VIVIS) prior to traveling to Brazil. There is no visa-on-arrival or e-visa option available. Brazil currently issues Indian citizens a multiple-entry visa valid for 10 years. You must apply directly at the nearest Brazilian embassy or consulate. Processing generally takes 15 to 20 business days. Initiate your application as soon as your registration is confirmed.
  • Mandatory e-Visa (US, Canada, and Australia): Passport holders from the United States, Canada, and Australia must obtain an electronic visa (e-Visa) before traveling. Processing takes 5 to 10 business days. We recommend applying at least a month in advance. The digital visa must be presented to your airline before boarding.

Reminder for All Attendees: Brazilian border control requires your passport to be valid for at least six months from your date of entry. You may also be asked to show proof of a return flight and details of your accommodation at immigration.
